Who stole summer and left us Autumn in its place?
Today, I finally took an hour out of the office. Not because I wanted to, mind, just because I needed to.
And my, the weather's still mild isn't it? People were wondering about in t-shirts and dresses, rather than the rather more wrapped up look you'd expect for mid-March. Of course, Sutton still has more than its fair share of be-tracksuited chavs (who all seemed to be travelling in family packs today), but generally it was a pleasant wee walk.
Next week is likely to be a lot less balmy. I'm in New York, attending a Six Apart event, visiting our New York office and attending a conference, amongst other things. And Antony has been IMing me from the Big Apple to report that it's freezing cold. I shall be packing a coat. And gloves.
And maybe even a scarf...
And my, isn't it mild? Spring is in the air.

Signs down in Sutton
Storms lashing the UK again:
I've just had my second miserable commute into work in as many days. Yesterday it was torrential rain, today fallen trees blocking the roads between Croydon and Sutton.
Don't you just love January?
As I was driving to Heathrow last night to pick up a couple of friends, my car indicated that the temperature had hit 36°C. Ouch. The Evening Standard confirmed it later: the hottest recorded day in London.
Luckily, perhaps, our friends live in Florida, and are used to far worse than the worst London offers us.
(I was going to post this last night, but Flickr was "having a massage". And we all know what that euphemism means…)
